no, most online schools are proprietary, meaning “for profit”. A lot of them are not accredited. Doing an MBA or a JD online with some fly by night school isn’t worth your time or money and won’t get you anywhere in the real world. A lot of state universities offer a program that is working person friendly, so check those out. They will be cheaper, too.

NO. In a field like law it matters where you go to school. The other poster was right that accreditation is a big issue. Trust me, you do not want to spend that kind of money to get a degree that won’t help you.

Many universities offer a part time evening program that takes 4 years instead of 3. Classes start at 6ish. Usually your first year (2 if part time) are scheduled for you and are non negotiable. You are with the same people in all of your classes.

No, that is an awful idea, espeically if you want to have any chance at passing the state bar and actually practicing law. Prep for and take the LSAT. Then research accredited schools in your area that accept students within your LSAT/GPA range. There are a good amount of schools in California (the better the school the better your job prospects). Most schools offer a part-time evening program over 4 years (as opposed to 3 years for full time) Note that even as an evening student, you may need to open up that 6 pm to 8 pm time-slot.

Unless it’s from an already accredited program that offers online classes, it’s generally a bad idea if you’re serious about practicing law. If you’re looking to practice in California, I don’t believe they require you attend law school to sit for the Bar Exam. But it’s the most difficult Bar Exam in the U.S.
